In the world of Teen Wolf, the astomi is a supernaturally classified species. An astomi resembles a normal human being but lacks a mouth.

 

Two astomi appear in Teen Wolf. One was an unnamed male who appeared in Season 4, and was a contract killer known as the Mute who was hired by the Benefactor to purge Beacon Hills, California of all supernaturals. In Season 5, a female astomi appears as a patient in Eichen House.

 

In Greek and Roman mythology, the Astomi are an ancient legendary race of people who had no need to eat or drink anything at all.
