The hospital is the locus of a number of important throughout the show. Melissa McCall works there as an ER nurse. The ME's office also works out of the hospital, as Laura Hale's unidentified body was being kept in their morgue.

At some point over the course of Season 1 (January 2011-February 2011), they apparently got a name change and upgraded their sign.
